Uniquely You….Fulfilling Gods Plan

Updated: Jan 25, 2021

I’m beginning to understand that the only way to love and live your best life is to be uniquely you… The you God created you to be before life’s disappointments, hurt and pain taught you to hide. Hiding leads to dishonest communication and dishonest communication leads to disconnection and disconnection leads to pain and pain …well the pain then becomes hellish, stubborn and dangerous. The good news is you don’t have to hide anymore. God is responsible for you and He will guide and protect you. Those things that were meant to hurt you He will use to grow you. You don’t have to be afraid to let the world see you. Your energy, your presence, your peace within, He will use to light the world around you.Live, love, connect, give in and surrender to the light within and let it shine. He needs what you have to offer. He needs to put in use what has been placed inside of you.

We can sometimes catch a glimpse of our true spirit and essence from time to time but then some trigger causes us to slip into our old protective habits. Some may say when this happens we have gone from an awakened state to a sleep state or conscious to unconscious or from seeing ourselves through Gods eyes to the worlds eyes or so on…. You get the point. However it’s put it means the same, you have forgotten who and whose you are. Some of us forget we are loved and valued and sadly some still don’t know they are. We run around trying to please people we were never meant to please (serve as God instructs?  yes, because that is about Him. But please? no, because that is about us), we self medicate, we put on our mask of choice and go out into the world with our coat of well protected armor (not God’s) and we meet the world with a fake face, fake spirit and a wounded soul. Our spirits say: “you won’t be able to bring me any real pain but you can’t bring me any real joy either because I’ll only allow you to see parts of me”. But when we hide from others we are also hiding from God. The things he asks of us like forgiveness, loving unconditionally, turning the other cheek, self-denial, letting go and letting God all seem impossible. Just because we know something doesn’t mean we can demonstrate it. I believe it is because of the raging war within ourselves. That’s why we can sometimes contradict what we believe. It doesn’t take strength to stand your ground and maintain your position…it takes strength to open your heart and share the light within. It takes strength to give yourself away…..to the will of God. Ask Jesus. He showed us how it’s done, not as God but as a man. That was the point. Let today be the day you put down your weapons and surrender to God. Let Him capture you…let him capture your heart… Your vision… Let him put on display His greatest trophy…. His most prized possession….his most magnificent creation…..his precious peculiar person….let him shine His light on his passion …..YOU. I’ve said it before and will always say it. God has this way of showing you it’s not about you while at the same time making it all about you…his love does that..it encourages your individuality and uses it to connect with those around you and uses that connection to lift up and draw in. I just love Him…. Thank you Jesus for all that you are, all that you do and for always staying true. The same today, tomorrow and forever more.

Hebrews 13:7-8 The Message (MSG)

7-8 Appreciate your pastoral leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness. There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself.

Thank you Lord. That is so totally it! That is what I am striving for…that consistency no matter what life throws my way. And that is also what life will work overtime to prevent from happening if allowed.

We don’t need protection we just need to open ourselves up to you, Lord. Try opening yourself a little everyday, share your true self with the world around you in bite size pieces. And if the world bites back don’t retaliate, allow God to put his healing salve on the wound then go out and do it again. Yes it’s going to hurt sometimes.

1 Peter 2:21-25 The Message (MSG)

21-25 This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.

At the end of this process, at the end of coming to the end of yourself listen for the words of God…”well done thy good and faithful servant”. Wow. What a moment that will be. Everything we’ve gone through that seemed so unfair and confusing will not be for naught. We have access to so much information about Christ right at our finger tips. It’s easier than ever to know Him intellectually. But He desires and requires a more intimate relationship. That’s why it’s so important that we demonstrate Christ rather than just preach or teach about Him. Being able to look into another’s eyes and see and feel their pain and meet them where it hurts. Not judging, just letting them know you see them and feel their pain but also being able to give them hope for a brighter day. Making ourselves available mentally and spiritually. Being present and available to be used by God. Knowing when to move, when to talk and also when to stay still and quiet. But that’s hard to do when you are dealing with so much pain of your own. In order to do this we must take care of ourselves mentally and spiritually by spending quiet time with God so He can minister to us. We are not without wounds and hurts, that is what allows us to be compassionate and empathetic but our pain will only hurt others if we don’t allow God to heal us. We must heal in order to be of use, otherwise our fallacies will drive away or add more pain to those seeking comfort, security and understanding. Take time to grow, mature and heal. Then we can be like Christ, the muscle, the “hands on” part of God. Christ did the dirty work and so must we. We are in the trenches laying ourselves open as living sacrifices for those in need of spiritual healing.

Matthew 28:16-20 The Message (MSG)

16-17 Meanwhile, the eleven disciples were on their way to Galilee, headed for the mountain Jesus had set for their reunion. The moment they saw him they worshiped him. Some, though, held back, not sure about worship, about risking themselves totally.

18-20 Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

Consider, create, connect and call. Consider your commission (or assignment), create an atmosphere around you that allows for others to connect with your commission and call on Jesus for the guidance and strength to complete your commission. We all have the same commission. The way in which we complete it is uniquely our own.

See how this divinely inspired blog started out talking about you but ended with fulfilling the Great Commission? So cool how He does that. The most important element of fulfilling this assignment is you…you are important, needed and essential…. Do you.

With Much Love,

Ms. Wanda, GAC
