The Real Deal

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

Ever make yourself satisfied with what you’ve got because you’re too afraid to go after what you want? I’m not talking about learning to be content with things you can do nothing about. I’m talking about settling for less than His best for your life or sabotaging when approaching His best. Refusing to do what it takes to get, keep, or put yourself in the position for His best. Or have you choked down the best parts of you because it doesn’t fit the you that you have created?  Making the decision to put aside what you have created…. to be all that God has created you to be doesn’t take inspiration, we get inspired all the time but that won’t necessarily move us to action. It’s not enough. Sure we can receive inspiration but real change comes from a decision and no one can do that for us. Getting real with ourselves is too personal, too raw and in some cases too painful to trust to anyone else. The decision to grow and evolve is ours…as well it should be. It takes faith and gut wrenching surrender to lay down all that you have always known for that which you know nothing about….to lay aside your good sense for Gods plan.

I asked the Lord what if you can’t do it? What if it’s just too hard to change? He said…… “everyone can….. but not everyone will”. Look at the example of Christ. He had a purpose to fulfill and though he went through dark days, lonely nights, treacherous people and an enemy promising Him everything if he would just abort the plan… He did what He was put here to do. Like Christ we have to….1) Be able to see the big picture and look beyond ourselves, our own pain and discomfort and in some cases the lure of what seems to be greener.  We have to also ….2) Care about and respect the Fathers plan…3) Know that we already have everything we need to do what we have been called to do….4) Trust….. 5) And when we doubt and we will…really picture the cross…..the miraculous example of strength, surrender and sacrifice. Remember the cross of Christ, it makes it easier to bear ours. A few things to remember on the way to where you’re going: you’re not alone, God has a purpose and a plan, He won’t harm you or hurt you, you are always on His radar, He sees you…always, don’t be afraid He’s got you and it’s not too late.

But really…..what if you just can’t make yourself be any different? What if you don’t know how? And how after living a lifetime one way can you shift gears? The Lord said to my spirit….”people do it all the time. They just change their minds. Sometimes after a traumatic event, sometimes after an epiphany, sometimes after running for so long there is no where else to go and sometimes the pain of staying the same becomes too intense because they are so far removed from who they were created to be. But not everyone will change their minds. Some will dig in their heels and refuse to step into their destiny, some will be too afraid, some who perceive no hope will numb the pain with whatever to forget, some will choke the life out of their life….some will be duped by darkness…they will not hear, listen, or act. But you will.  The key is to focus on Me. It’s all good and about to become better”.

1 Peter 2:9 King James Version (KJV) 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

We are being called out of the darkness into the marvelous light.

Don’t be a version of you…be the real deal…..
