Serenity
Updated: Jan 31, 2021
I wasn’t sure why then but at the beginning of the year I thought about a prayer that hung on the wall of my mother and father’s house. As a result I decided to do something different on New Years Day 2012, instead of coming up with resolutions I never keep anyway I decided to adopt this prayer for my life this year. The name of the prayer is The Serenity Prayer. The definition of serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. The full Serenity Prayer is as follows:
SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen. “–Reinhold Niebuhr”
It’s either funny or a shame but I had been so busy “handling” life this year that I had forgotten about the prayer……until recently. Well at least the year is not over. Thank you Lord.
Disappointments will come…Let it Go…Reflect…remain Grateful…
God Bless You
Love,
Ms Wanda, GAC
